Congratulations Monarchs!!! 2026 3A Soccer State Qualifiers!
The Monarchs met with their Coaches before the Starters were announced for the Monarchs IAHSAA 3A Sub state Final Game vs Spencer.
The Monarchs rallied on the field as rain came down before the start of the game.
Matthew Sandoval (3) drove the ball up field.
Osvan Diaz (10) moved up field and passed in to the middle.

The ball was returned to him and he fired a shot at the goal. The Keeper made a diving stop at the right corner of the goal.
Isai Marquez (4) dropped the ball to the Monarch Keeper.
Jose Ozuna (GK) waited for a Spencer Player before sending the ball up field.
Matthew (3) handled a throw in.
Osvan (10) made a pass between two defenders.
Kevin Sanchez (12) battled two players for possession, then the ball was kicked out of bounds.
Matthew (3) tossed the ball in bounds.
Kevin (12) moved to the corner then centered the ball. The ball was kicked out.

Victor Menendez (7) redirected the ball.
Jose Leyva (8) pushed the ball outside.

The ball was deflected and Osvan (10) made a short pass inside.
Miguel Hernandez (14) dropped the ball to an open team mate.
Aiden (24) advanced the ball then sent it across the field.
Matthew (3) pressed the ball inside.

After a deflection, Isai (4) used a header to direct the ball up field.
Jose (8) made a back-pass.

Carlos Zamago (11) leaped in to the air to head the ball.
The ball was kicked out and Matthew (3) tossed it back in to play.
Osvan (10) directed the ball in to the middle.
Carlos (11) battled for control.
Carlos (11) weaved through Defenders then fired a shot at the goal.
The ball zipped past the Keeper and went just outside the left post.
Jose (8) dropped the ball.
Aiden (24) returned the ball.
Jose (8) relayed the ball inside.
Osvan (10) sent the ball up the middle. The ball went out.
Isai (4) used a header to knock down the goal kick.
Kevin (12) directed the ball with a header.
Osvan (10) advanced the ball.
Victor (7) dropped the ball.
Jose (8) passed the ball around a Spencer Player.
Osvan (10) returned the ball.
Jose (8) steered the ball up the middle.
Carlos (11) dropped the ball to an open team mate.

Miguel (14) blasted a shot at the goal.
The Keeper bobbled the b all but was able to cover it as Carlos (11) closed in.
Jose (GK) scooped up a loose ball.

Osvan (10) pushed the ball up the middle.
The ball was deflected and Miguel (14) tracked it down before dropping it to an open team mate.
Aiden (24) moved up field then sent the ball across the field.

At the other end of the field, Kevin (12) kicked the ball out.
Aiden (24) used a header to knock down a long Spencer throw in.
Matthew (3) cleared the ball.
Jose (8) advanced the ball.
A little later, Isai (4) used a header to knock the ball down.
Kevin (12) pushed the ball inside.
Miguel (14) sent the ball up the middle.
The ball was cleared and Matthew (3) knocked it down with a header.
Jose (8) escorted the ball up field before making a quick pass.
Matthew (3) slid to keep the ball away from a Spencer Player.
Kevin (12) pressed the ball up field.
Osvan (10) sent the ball up the side line.
Carlos (11) carried the ball to the corner then fought for a shot at the goal. The ball was eventually cleared.
At the other end of the field, Aiden (24) handled a throw in.
Spencer kicked the ball across mid field in to the back field where Jose (GK) scooped it up.
Jose (GK) threw the ball in to play.
Kevin (12) dropped the ball.
Matthew (3) switched the ball to the other side of the field.
Spencer picked the ball off and made a run at the goal. Wilson (5) was a step ahead of the Spencer Player.
Wilson (5) had a clean steal as the Spencer Player tripped.
Wilson (5) sent the ball up field.
The ball was deflected and Kevin (12) made a short pass that ricocheted off a Spencer Player.
Isai (4) cleared the ball.
A little later, Miguel (14) knocked down a penalty kick with a header.
Aiden (24) pushed the ball up field.
Victor (7) made a pass inside.
Osvan (10) directed the ball up field.

The ball was cleared, Aiden (24) used a header to drive the ball back up field.
Later, Kevin (12) made a pass inside.
Osvan (10) delivered a pass up the middle.
Osvan (10) called the goal as Carlos (11) fired a shot past the Keeper for a Monarch Score!
The Monarchs congratulated Carlos (11) and celebrated the goal.
Jose (GK) punched a throw in away from the goal as a Spencer Player collided with him.
Spencer returned the ball and Isai (4) knocked it down.
Jose (8) cleared the ball.
Later, Jose (GK) made a nice stop at the corner of the goal.
Jose (GK) sent the ball up field.
At the other end of the field, Jose (8) handled a corner kick.
Wilson (5) used a header to direct the ball. The shot was on target but the Keeper leaped in front of the ball to make the stop.
Later, Aiden (24) tossed the ball in bounds.
Jose (8) made a short pass.

Osvan (10) dribbled in to the middle of the field then fired a shot at the goal. The ball skipped past a defender directly toward the goal but the Keeper made a diving stop.
At the other end of the field, Isai (4) pressured a Spencer Player, stole the ball, and stopped a run at the goal.
Anselmo Marquez (15) used a header to direct the ball.
Osvan (10) relayed the ball up field.
Santiago (9) carried the ball across mid field before passing in to the middle.
Later, Osvan (10) made a nice pass up field.
Carlos (11) took a shot between two defenders. The ball was deflected.
Angel Rodriguez (18) ran the ball down on the other side of the field.
The ball was kicked out and Angel (18) handled the throw in.
Anselmo (15) knocked the ball down. The ball rolled toward the goal and was covered by the Keeper.
A little later, Osvan (10) leaped in to the air and used a header to direct the ball.
Kevin (12) made a pass inside.
Anselmo (15) pushed the ball outside.
Aiden (24) drove the ball up field.
With the score tied at 1-1 at the half the Monarchs took a break and got ready for the second period.
The Monarchs huddled on the field before play resumed.
Matthew (3) sent the ball outside as the Monarchs rotated the ball to start the half.
Kevin (12) sent the ball up the side line.
Anselmo (15) kicked the ball away from a Spencer Player.

Carlos (11) pushed the ball up the side line.
Victor (7) moved up the side line and the ball was kicked out.
Jose (8) handled the corner kick.
The ball was cleared and Aiden (24) handled a throw in.
A little later, Jose (GK) leaped up to stop a shot taken from 25 yards out.

Jose (GK) punted the ball up field.
Later, Victor (7) made a nice pass inside.
Carlos (11) created space then fired a shot at the goal. The ball was on target but the Keeper made the stop.
Osvan (10) sent the goal kick back up field.
Carlos (11) raced after the ball but his legs were taken out by the Keeper which drew a foul.
Santiago (9) took the penalty kick and hit nothing but net for a Monarch Goal!
The Monarchs congratulated Santiago (9) and celebrated the go ahead goal.
Later, Osvan (10) went up to knock down a throw in. Osvan drew a foul as he was slammed in to from behind.
Jose (8) handled the penalty kick.
The Spencer Keeper had to leap in to a crowd to knock the ball away from Monarchs who converged on the goal.

Anselmo (15) sent the ball up the middle.
Osvan (10) relayed the ball up field.
A little later, Isai (4) cleared the ball from the Monarch back field.
Kevin (12) advanced the ball then made a pass up field.
Carlos (11) blasted a shot past a defender. The ball slipped between the hands, then the legs of the Keeper and rolled in to the net for a Monarch Goal!
The Monarchs congratulated Carlos (11) and celebrated the goal as they expanded their lead.
Wilson (5) cleared the ball.
Later, Jose (GK) knocked down a penalty kick.
Jose (GK) recovered the loose ball as two Spencer Players closed in.
Jose (GK) punted the ball back in to play.
Isai (4) advanced the ball.
Carlos (11) made a pass inside.
Osvan (10) made a nice pass around a defender.
Angel (18) raced past a defender then fired a shot past the Keeper for another Monarch Goal!
The Monarchs congratulated Angel (18) and celebrated the goal as they moved closer to qualifying for the State Tournament.

Anselmo (15) sent the ball up field.
Osvan (10) took a shot at the goal.
Osvan's (10) shot was on target but the Spencer Keeper made a diving stop.
At the other end of the field, Angel (18) cleared a corner kick with a header.
Later, the Monarchs had a corner kick of their own. Jose (8) put the ball in play.
Angel (18) used a header to direct the ball.
Victor (7) bumped the ball outside.
Jose (8) handled a penalty kick for the Monarchs. The ball was punched away from the goal by the Keeper.
Spencer had a penalty kick at the other end of the field and Isai (4) cleared it with a header.

Later, a header off a long pass created a one on one with a Spencer Player. Jose (GK) adjusted to the other side of the goal and made a spectacular stop.
Matthew (3) cleared the corner kick.
Later, Aiden (24) cleared a penalty kick despite a Spencer Player slamming in to him.
The Monarchs passed the ball around in their back field to milk the clock and protect their lead.
Isai (4) used a header to redirect another penalty kick.
Jose (8) made a pass up field.
Carlos (11) sprinted past a defender.
Carlos (11) maneuvered past the Keeper.
Carlos (11) followed up with a shot in to the goal with only seconds to go on the clock.
The Monarchs congratulated Carlos (11) and celebrated the goal.
Time expired and the Monarchs raced on to the field celebrating their 5-2 sub state final victory.
The Monarchs dog piled in front of the stands as they celebrated qualifying for the State Tournament.
The Monarchs will play Dallas Center-Grimes in Indianola on Monday, June 1st at 2:30PM in the IAHSAA 3A Regional Quarterfinals.
