Innovative Perspective

Often in the web development world people find themselves purchasing cookie cutter solutions and trying to force these solutions to work for their business. This is not unlike trying to force a square peg in to a round hole. While well intentioned, many providers of web services are simply plugging in products that are pre made and not necessarily a good fit for the consumer.

An innovative perspective is needed and the best source for that perspective is the consumer. It is imperative that web product consumers look beyond a flashy sales pitch and consider purchases from a need based stance. Does the buyer need a traditional website, an ecommerce solution, interoffice communication tools, a contact management system etc. or a hybrid that blends several solutions together?

In other words, look at your own situation and determine what online processes can benefit your business. Whether the need is to provide consumer information, reduce staff time or materials costs or create an environment that boosts or eases employee communication, the final decision is yours.

The most innovative solutions have been developed when consumers participate and challenge web service providers to meet the needs of their particular business or organization. Web developers thrive and consumers reap the benefits when the two join minds to create solutions that meet the needs of the buyer.

Omni Hoverboards

In May 2015, Montreal inventor Catalin Alexandru Duru set the Guinness World Record for the farthest flight by hoverboard. The flight lasted approx. one and a half minutes and Duru travelled a total distance of 905 ft and 2 inches. (view the video on YouTube) The flight took place over a lake in Canada. Alexandru Duru and associates created a new company called Omni Hoverboards Inc.

Alexandru Duru's record setting hoverboard has eight propellers and is powered by 12-16 (different sources offer varying numbers) lithium polymer batteries. The board currently has enough power to stay aloft for 1 1/2 minutes and generates approx. 40 horse power. Patents are pending and Omni Hoverboards is currently working on a new version of the hoverboard. The Omni Hoverboard is expected to be released in 2017.
