Marketing Your Website

What's New ?
  Building on the Past

Have you ever read an investment prospectus? Most have a disclaimer that says something like "Historical Performance is not necessarily an indication of future results." Well, in the real world past performance is almost always an indication of future results. In other words, if you typically keep your word and do what you say you will, you probably will in the future as well.

Business reputations are built on the foundation that past performance indicates future results. A business reputation can be built in many ways but the most common and immediately recognizable method is through quality customer service. Customer service isn't just a quick thank you and a smile when someone purchases your product or service. It is being a problem solver, when your customer has a problem you figure out how to fix it.

Take a look at IBM for example. IBM has built a reputation for quality products and services over the years. Although their market and product line has changed, IBM continues to build on the reputation established in the past. It seems that many large businesses today have neglected to build a reputation and instead have cynically developed methods that reduce or limit customer service. These companies will have to face the future with a skeptical customer base which inevitably leads to a loss of profits.

Every step we take to improve or enhance customer service builds on the last step taken to protect and establish our business reputation. Many of our parents taught us a simple lesson, "If you are going to do something, take the time to do it right." Now that is a past we can build on!
Leap Motion

Remember all the talk about touch screens and never having to use a keyboard again? Well guess what, humans get tired. Yeah, who would have thought of that, we get fatigued if we have to touch, grab and move our hands in a restricted space over and over again.

Along comes Leap Motion. Leap Motion doesn't need a touch screen so the space is no longer restricted to a 15 inch monitor. The Leap motion controller is tiny and sits on your desk. You control it with hand and finger movement that takes place above the controller.

From the website, "The Leap Motion Controller tracks all 10 fingers up to 1/100th of a millimeter."  That is precise control. You move your hands in 3D and Leap Motion tracks them at a rate of 200 frames per second.

Leap Motion software and a USB connection to the Leap Controller is all you need to get started.

Job Placement for Prospective Personnel
After viewing prospective employees in the waiting room.
1. If they have taken the waiting room table apart, put them in Engineering.
2. If they are crazed from 2 hours without internet, Computer Information Systems is their home.
3. If they are typing up the details of the experience, send them to the archives.
4. If they are discussing the price of the waiting room furniture, send them to purchasing.
If they mention that hardwood furniture DOES NOT come from rainforests, Public Relations may be appropriate.
6. If they are totally disinterested, put them in Help Desk.
If they are completely oblivious when you enter the room, assign them to Security.
9. If they appear to be endlessly optimistic, send them to Marketing.
10. If they are sleeping soundly, they are definitely Management material.
