Cocaine and Crack
Cocaine is an illegal drug that artificially speeds up the nervous sysstem.
Cocaine comes from a salt product of the coco bush.Mainly manufactured in
South America. When it is sold on the streets of the U.S. it is usually mixed with
other chemicals.Cocaine is usually "snorted" up the nose.It can also be "shot up"
or injected or smoked in a pipe.Crack gets its name from the cracking sound when
it is being cooked up.Usually with baking soda.Usually crack smokers smoke with
cigerette tobacco or with marijuana.
Cocaine is a white powder with no smell and can desolve in water fairly
easy.Crack looks like a a pebble, usually yellow.
You can find these drugs on the streets as .blow."c".coke.cola.flake.golddust.
nose.rock.snow.toot.white.pase.and coca.
People who use cocaine feel as if they have a short experiance in energy,
alertness, and awarness. They also talk more or are more impulsive. These feelings depend on the user and how much the user used. Once the feelings where off, users
"crash", feeling depressed, irritable, and tired, causeing cocaine users to use more
and more. The differecnce in the rush of the drug and the crash makes the user crave
the drug more and chases the first rush. When cocaine is inhaled, the rush is in full effect within minutes, then crashes in about an hour. When smoked or injected,
the effects felt much faster and the crash comes more quickly. Crack is 10
times more powerful than cocoaine.
Some of the short term effects are:
.hallucinations
.dilated pupils
.motor skills diminished

The use of cocaine ir crack can be harmful to the developing fetus, if pregnant.
Quickly an addiction can occure because of the rush-crash experiment. Often the
drug becomes so important to the user that nothing in life is as important than
the next high.
Some of the long term effects are:
.heart attack
.constipation
.dehydration
.impotence
.loss of appetite
.panic
.damage to the nasal septum from snorting
.rapid tooth decay
.seizures

Around 23 million people 12 and older have tried cocaine at least once.
Around 6 million people have used during the last year.
An overdose is very serious. If you have signs of a heart attack, lung damage,
stroke, or sever muscle twitching get help. Ask any one for help. A councler or a parent. Cocaine or crack or any other drug is not worth the effects.
