Creating a "Sticky" Website
If you have children, sticky is not a good thing, actually it
is almost always a bad thing. But when it comes to websites
"sticky" is a very good thing. A "sticky" website is one which
offers content that brings its visitors back again and again.
This is accomplished through the use of sticky content. The
real question is what constitutes sticky content?
Sticky content is information or applications not readily
available else where. Sticky content can also be "community"
type content that is built around the content of your website.
For example, an auto dealer may sell a book of tips and tricks
on getting the best deal for your used car. This in itself is
not necessarily sticky content, however if the first chapter
is offered to site visitors free of charge the dealer may just
have something that brings people back to his site. Add
community content and a sticky site is born.
Community content in the case of the car dealer may be a
visitor forum that revolves around the tips and tricks behind
getting the best deal for a used car. As visitors share their
own tips and experiences people will return to learn the
tricks others have found useful. Closely monitoring the posts
on a forum of this type is crucial to maintaining the type of
community you want on your site.
There are many ways of creating a "sticky" site, posting to a
Blog, elearning tools and many others are all ways of
distributing information that can create that sticky site we
all want for our products and services. |
Free Anti Virus Protection
Most PC users already have some form of
virus protection, but not all have taken advantage of the paid
or free programs available to protect their computer systems.
Microsoft has released it's own free for
personal use anti virus software named
Microsoft Security Essentials . The website states:
Microsoft Security Essentials is a free* download from
Microsoft that is simple to install, easy to use, and always
kept up to date so you can be assured your PC is protected by
the latest technology. It’s easy to tell if your PC is secure
— when you’re green, you’re good. It’s that simple.
* Your PC must run genuine Windows to
install Microsoft Security Essentials.
If you are currently unprotected Microsoft
Security Essentials may be worth a try.
