 Summer Marketing Tips

Summer isn't always the best time to test or try new marketing techniques but it is a great time to prepare for fall and winter promotions. With people  traveling, and spending more time outdoors it can be difficult to reach customers during the summer months. Here are a few tips to turn the hot summer months in to cool promotions.

Offer promotional gifts to customers during the summer months so your brand message is received whether they are on the lake or in their car. Branded water bottles, travel mugs and other inexpensive promotional give-aways can place your name in front of potential customers all summer long. A potential customer has to stop by the store to pick up the gift and may just make a purchase while they are there.

Offer free Ice Cold Lemonade to customers while they shop. Serve in branded plastic cups or glasses that the customer can take home with them. Use discretion because this tip could be a disaster for an electronics store.

Summer can be a great time to prepare for fall and winter sales or promotions. Spend the summer months collecting email address's from interested customers and announce Your Back to School Sale without spending a fortune. I even read where one retailer asks customers for the names, emails and addresses of friends and family members while displaying a holiday gift that will be sent on the customers behalf. Of course the gift has the retailers brand on it and arrives with what was described as tasteful holiday advertising for the retailer.

Use your imagination! Summer can be a great time to promote your brand or prepare for future promotions.

Saving a Web Page to Your Hard Drive

Have you ever wanted to save a web page on your hard drive so you could reference it later? There are many reasons for saving a web page to your hard drive but the typical File - Save doesn't always provide the results that we hoped for.

The *.mht format is available with Internet Explorer and creates a single compact archive of a web page, including all the graphics. Choose File-Save As from the Internet Explorer menu, then choose *.mht from the Save As Type: drop down menu. Once the file has been saved on your hard drive, navigate to where you saved the archive and double click to open it. The full web page with live links and graphics will open in your browser.

The archives can be emailed or burned to disc allowing for portable storage of any web page.
