 Business Reputation

Your business reputation is the life blood of what you do each day. A good reputation allows you to continue to serve customers and a poor one can slam the doors of success soundly in your face.

Why is a business reputation so important? A business reputation is like thumbs up or thumbs down on modern reality TV. If there are too many votes to throw you off the island you may soon find yourself going out of business. The longer you avoid negatives in regard to your brand the more likely you are to be able to weather the storm if something negative occurs.

Consistent customer service is the number one way that a company builds its reputation. When customers feel they are being treated fairly they rarely complain. A customer service plan should be developed on a company wide basis and be part of your work culture.

It is important to maintain your brand image and defend it if necessary. But use caution when responding to negative publicity. A measured response will garner more attention than an emotional one. Dealing with a problem should be secondary; avoiding the problem should be a first priority.

Engage a disgruntled customer from the aspect of helping you provide better customer service. Most people cannot resist having an impact on company policy. This must be a legitimate effort or it appears phony and will further anger an already frustrated customer.

The first step is to build a business reputation then follow up by delivering on your brand.

Online Help

PPP Design & BT Computers have recently partnered to create an online help section for the use of our customers. The help section is relatively small right now but will be expanded as new items are available.

Currently, step by step instructions are available for setting up new email accounts in Outlook Express, Outlook 2000-2003 and Windows Mail. Many of you use domain name email accounts and it is important for you to be able to retrieve any mail received in to your local mail program. Multiple account set up instructions are available as well.

Instructions for the free picture resize and optimize program Pixresizer are also available.

A link to a blog post on PCWorld offers instructions on password protecting files and folders on many windows operating systems (sorry no Vista instructions).

Most of the instructions are in PDF format so you can download them and use them as you wish. Other help topics will be links to informative articles or blog posts.

Watch for an email signature help file and even an html signature creator which will be coming soon.
