What's New ?

Never Under Estimate a Customer

When you have been in business long enough a customer always comes along and asks for something that seems beyond the scope or utility of the products you offer. At first glance it seems the individual may not fully grasp the available technology and its many uses. Often, after consideration it seems there may be a glimmer of hope for your product and its ability to fulfill the needs of the customer. Dig even deeper and you may find that your product has a use you never even considered.

As business people we are hesitant to think someone else may see a benefit to our product that we haven't already defined. It makes us feel like we have let down our guard, missed an opportunity or neglected a possible market. As business people this can be difficult to swallow.

Whenever a customer asks whether or not your product can achieve a specific goal, take a minute, consider the question and don't be afraid to ask for more information or ask for time to consider the question. Your customer may be creating a new market for you.

If we underestimate our client’s ability to see the uses of our products, we may be underestimating our products and the benefits they can offer.

How Fast Will The Internet Be?

The singularity theory suggests that technology will improve exponentially until it reaches a state of unprecedented progress. This theory seems to be coming a reality.

Scientists from the University of Sydney have created a thumbnail sized chip made of speedy optic fibers which can change the path of data one million times per second. These photonic integrated circuits can process data rapidly enough to demonstrate an internet 60 times faster than it is today.

The scientists say that the chips can be produced cheaply so the cost of a faster internet should not suffer from tech shock.

The advanced speed could allow files that currently take several days to download the ability to reach our computers in just seconds.

Microsoft Word Tips

Do you ever have several Microsoft Word documents open at the same time? If you have edited several documents it can be a real pain to save the changes in each document. However there is a shortcut that can save you time. Try holding down the shift key when you go to the file menu, this changes Save to Save All.

Do you want to move a paragraph to another position on the page? Put your cursor at the beginning of a paragraph and hold down the Shift and Alt keys at the same time. Now use the up and down arrows to move the paragraph.

The Ctrl key is your best buddy when you want to experiment with line spacing and alignment variations. Ctrl + 1 provides single spacing, Ctrl + 2 provides double spacing and Ctrl + 5 provides 1-1/2 line spacing. Ctrl + R right aligns a paragraph, Ctrl + L left aligns one, and Ctrl + E centers one.
