Saving Time
A well known song by Jim Croce aptly named "Time In A Bottle"
has the singer imagining what he would do with the time saved,
if only he could save time in a bottle. I am not going to
suggest that the time savings possible with the use of a
website is as romantic or dreamy as the Jim Croce song
suggests. But I do assert that the time savings offered by a
website is real and not just a lyric.
To be fair, not every website can or will free up resources
such as staff time. Most however, when promoted and
established properly, can save substantial time when it comes
to answering visitor questions. Items such as business hours,
location and common product and service questions can be
answered on your website which in turn saves you or your staff
time in answering those questions directly.
Product use tutorials posted on your site can not only save
hours of time but can also help promote your product. Once a
visitor realizes that a tutorial is available, it makes it
easier to purchase a product that may otherwise have a
difficult or unique learning curve. Imagine if you had to take
the time to walk every customer through a 15 minute tutorial
over the phone!
Your website can't and won't answer every question a customer
may have but even if it answers half of them, the time savings
is real and allows you to spend more time marketing, promoting
and selling more product. |
A Seasonal Display Like many businesses, we
enjoy supporting organizations that we feel have a positive
impact on the world we live in. You may or may not know that
PPP Design offers a discount to Churches and other Christian
based organizations. Until recently, that was how we did our
small part to support these organizations.
The websites we built for churches in the past were no
different (in structure) than any other website. But the two
websites being introduced below are different. Maybe not to
the casual observer, but the people being served by these
sites will notice a seasonal difference.
Both sites were developed with the ability to dynamically
change the header based upon the seasons of the church and
change the background and accent colors when desired. With
both churches being geographically close to one another we
wanted to make sure the two sites could look unique while
still displaying the colors of the respective church season.
Each church has 9 headers, 8 representing the church seasons
and their colors and one header specific to the Church itself.
Although the seasonal colors are the same in this case, each
header is unique.
Each site also has three additional pages that can be
hidden or displayed as needed. This provides them with the
opportunity to promote special events through out the year
without having empty or mostly empty pages in the interim.
We have developed another church website using fewer
seasonal headers to match the colors of the church seasons for
that church. This new site should go live soon.
Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah and
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clarinda are the two churches
discussed above. We are happy to add them to our portfolio.
Please welcome
