Responding to Change
Is your business changing? Has the economy or competition
changed the way you do business lately? If so, were you ready
for the change? Many people are caught off guard when changes
dictate that they alter the way they do business. It isn't
unusual to be stressed or even unsure about changes but what a
business can't do is panic.
A steady, consistent approach to change is not only required
but it offers stability and piece of mind to owners, vendors
and customers. This is a part of doing business in today's
world. If change completely throws you for a loop and causes
you to panic and make knee jerk reactions, then maybe running
a business isn't for you.
The way we react to change offers customers and potential
customers a view into how things will be handled when the
marketplace place throws us a curve. Almost all change is
laden with opportunity; it is the way we react that determines
whether or not we capitalize on that opportunity.
The next time you are faced with a change that seems to be a
real problem, take a moment, look for the upside and do your
best to capitalize on the opportunity presented to you. |
New Data Center
PPP Design is moving to a new datacenter. We
began with our current data center 9 years ago and have
received exemplary service until recently. Over the past few
months service seems to be declining in ways you may have
noticed and in other ways that only we have to deal with. Some
more noticeable problems can't be avoided such as a hardware
failure or backbone disruption (access to datacenter is
disrupted due to weather etc.), but others relate directly the
level of service being delivered.
Over the past several months we have been
researching alternative datacenters so we would be ready if a
switch were necessary. We will be moving all websites and
email accounts to the new datacenter this month.
The new datacenter offers a new 2008 server
with more memory, raid balancing and security. This will
provide all of us a home on modern, cutting edge hardware with
security features to match.
If you are currently logging in toWeb Mail
online we suggest that you export any contacts and download
all emails. You may want to consider using a desktop client
such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird etc. so all
emails can be retrieved in real time. Tutorials on setting up
these email programs are available in the online help files
that were recently introduced or you can contact us for
assistance in setting up your accounts.
In many cases this will be a seamless
transaction, in others it will be necessary for us to contact
you regarding email accounts and other items to complete the
transition.
We will notify you via email when the move
will take place. |
