Do you remember that thick Sears Catalog that offered almost everything a person could imagine? Those types of catalogs have all but disappeared. The internet and the cost to produce large paper catalogs has placed them on the path to obsolescence.

This doesn't mean that large catalogs have to go the way of the dinosaur, online or digital catalogs can and have taken their place. Online stores with advanced search features, wish lists and other  options offer the ability to display larger images, broader product definitions, customer reviews and in depth technical specifications. A paper catalog would be to large to carry if it included the amount of information that large modern online stores offer.

Digital catalogs fill the void left by the deliverable catalogs of the past. PDF, Flash and Silver light technology among other formats offer the ability to create and deliver electronic catalogs that can be created and delivered at a fraction of the cost necessary to provide customers with a large paper catalog. Many of these formats can be remotely updated reducing the cost of delivery even further. Some even offer book marking and other user options.

Although you can't balance a table, squish silly putty on the pages or help start a fire with a used digital catalog they do make a suitable substitute for an almost extinct medium.

Relieving stress is as important as productivity, after all if you are stressed out you probably won't be that productive. So, to end the year on a fun note Decembers monthly tip offers up a couple of free games. These are games that are not to complex and offer a degree of stress relief.

The first game is Bridging the Gap. The object is to build a bridge so a train can cross, this is supposed to be a fun game but there are forces working against you.

Duotris is the second game and it is a classic puzzle game. In the Tetris genre, there are different options for speed and strategy.

The third game is Mini Golf Pro. This miniature golf game allows you to make your own holes, compete for top score online and play with other people both online or at home.

And the final game is for the kids. Glace is a fun platform game that any child that can use a keyboard can play. You can skip the background story by clicking escape but kids may like the story.
