Marketing Your Site

What's New ?

 Website Resolution

Do you sometimes find it difficult to keep your website up to date? Do you forget to promote your website now and then? Do you periodically forget to utilize your website to save time and money by posting answers to questions often asked by customers? Do you forget that your website can be used as a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week salesman that never complains about overtime?

If you answered one or more of these questions affirmatively, don't feel bad, even companies with full time webmasters face these problems at times. There is a solution or should I say a resolution that may help. It is simple yet effective. Resolve to spend a few minutes each week determining if you are fully utilizing the advantages your website has to offer. For many businesses, fifteen minutes per week devoted to making sure your website is up to date, fully utilized, and promoted is all it takes to achieve the maximum benefits your site has to offer.

Like your physical store or office your website requires periodic maintenance. If you didn't clean or have your store or office cleaned regularly what would it look like? Let’s not dwell on that thought for long. Your website requires a little attention to keep it swept clean of old data. Polish the text now and then to keep it current and your website can be a very powerful tool. And like your physical store, every now and then a deep, thorough cleaning may be necessary.

Do you ever add new equipment to make your life a little easier in your physical store or office? Of course you do, and with internet technology advancing with leaps and bounds there may be times when adding a new tool to your website makes sense as well. Tools like online Help Desks have proven to be time savers for many businesses, internet scheduling makes sense for some, and online training or tutorial systems can save time and cut costs dramatically. A myriad of new online tools are being created everyday.

So this New Year, (and I sincerely hope Your’s is a Happy one) resolve to take a few minutes each week to get the most out of your website. This is one resolution that is certain to pay off.

A New Twist on an Old Favorite

'Twas the Day After Christmas

'Twas the Day After Christmas and sales were sluggish
My solitaire game was running slowly, my computer a little buggish
Christmas left our stock room full ready and waiting
Our sales manager sat in the corner crying, why was he hesitating

The Boss paced in his office wearing a groove in the floor
I heard a gentle rapping, a tapping, a gentle knock at the door
I reached for the door knob and opened slowly to let him in
An elfish man entered and scanned the room with a grin

He had such a presence although his stature was small
Confidence radiated from him, it affected us all
He strode to a chair and spun it around right towards me
With one smooth little motion he climbed up on one knee

Then when he stood, he seemed a bit taller than most
Our sales manager turned to listen he was white as a ghost
As he spoke his first words his voice boomed off the walls
He spoke of Christmas, Mistletoe and Decking the Halls

He said it was simple and we all must draw near
He had a message that was important for all of us to hear.
He paused for affect and explained why sales had been such a bomb
It was really quite simple we forgot to promote our Dot Com!

Happy Holidays!

xplorer² — Free or Pro version

From the website:

The lightweight version of xplorer² is not as powerful as the professional version but it shares the same desktop browsing and file management engine, it sports dual panes and folder tabs, and gives many rival paid-for file managers a run for their money — literally! It is a complete little file manager, albeit lacking a bit in bells and whistles.

Try the Free version and upgrade to the Pro version if you like the file management power it offers.
