Is This Glass Half Empty or Half Full?
As a business, are you pro active during this economy or have
you taken a wait and see approach? Many businesses, according
to a recent survey by
Insperity
are taking a wait and see approach. 70 percent of Business
Owners listed the economy as the number one concern they had
for their business in 2011. This in spite of the fact that 70
% are meeting or exceeding 2011 performance plans. Is this
pessimism for pessimism's sake? Bad news is like advertising,
if we hear enough of the same message it starts to sink in.
But is the small business owner’s attitude causing part of the
problem?
As small business owners in America we make the economy work.
Small businesses employ more workers, create more revenue, and
sell more products than their larger counter parts. So why are
small business owners so pessimistic when 70 % are meeting or
exceeding 2011 performance plans? Why not take a new approach,
actively develop new markets, seek out and build new
partnerships? In other words why aren't more small businesses
being proactive?
According to the survey mentioned earlier small businesses are
worried about health care costs (47%), health care reform
(46%), the federal deficit (74%) and a myriad of other things
that can cause economic problems. And yet 52% expect to have
an increase in sales over 2010. Over 82% have stated that they
have delayed their expectations of a recovery. Are you
starting to see a pattern here?
Small business owners are concerned about national issues
(with good reason) and show pessimism for the issues with
which they have the least control. However, when it comes to
their own businesses they display optimism for the coming year
and even expect growth. It appears most small businesses feel
like they have their own act together and only wish others
involved with our economy would get theirs together as well. |
Cruzin' Cooler???? A 1000 Watt Electric Scooter with
the body of a cooler is being sold on E-Bay for $799. So if
you are in the market for a gift for the person that has
everything, this might be perfect. At least you won't be
getting them the same thing everyone else is getting. (Just a
guess).
This is no joke, the cooler or scooter is rechargeable and
can go up to 13 mph for up to 15 miles and can carry up to
300lbs, oh and a case of beer and 8 lbs of ice.
Cruzin' Cooler
Better hurry, the seller only has 5 left and the sale is
over in 17 days.
