What's New ?

      Ultimately It's You!

How many times have you seen a new online business fail due to lack of planning? How about a lack of understanding regarding what it takes to be a success online? Often I see new online startups fall prey to the myriad of traps and pitfalls that can overcome the success of any new business. But since their business is online many new entrepreneurs think that the rules are different, or that there is some special technique to becoming successful on the internet.

Sure, an online business is different than a brick and mortar store but the underlying business principles are the same. The initial overhead required to start an online store certainly doesn't match the costs involved when purchasing a store front or other business property. The look of your store, the address (domain name) and accessibility issues are just as real. The internet poses its own challenges. A small local store certainly doesn't have the competition that an online startup may face but marketing the two businesses can both be challenging.

Ultimately, the survival of any business comes down to its owners. Are they in the right market; are they passionate about the product and services they are offering? Do they understand the challenges facing their particular business? If so, they have the initial ingredients of success. The rest of course is all up to them as well.

 New Concept Car?

An email has been making the rounds on the internet suggesting that a new Mercedes Benz is almost ready for market. The "new" Mercedes has no steering wheel or pedals. It is a very cool car!

The only problem is that the car is a concept car first shown at a Paris auto show in 1998. It is a Mercedes and it does not have a steering wheel. But it was never made for production.

Some people suggest that the concept car may have inspired the modern "drive by wire" steering systems and others suggest that the modern back up camera was spawned from just such a concept car.

Most experts agree however, joystick driving is a long way off unless you are an F-16 Pilot.
