Basic Outline for Quality Website Content
Focus on the Subject Matter
Stick to information that visitors may find
interesting. Don't try to satisfy every visitor on one page.
Each page of your site should focus on one area of your
business. Think of your website like a novel. Each page should
develop a character (product or service) so visitors
understand specifically what you offer.
Get Inside Your Visitors Head
Figure out what visitors to your site are
looking for and give it to them. If metal widgets are what
most people come to your site for, then metal widgets should
be on your home page. I know you want to move that crate of
plastic widgets but that will have to be the focus of another
page on your site.
Be Specific and Provide Details
Don't generalize, provide details that may be
important to your visitor up front. Try, "Our Metal Widgets
can be used for bla, bla, bla". Instead of, "Our
products our some of the best in the industry". Be
specific and explain how your products can provide solutions
to visitors problems.
Use Benefits and Features on Your Home Page
If you don't they may not look any farther.
Get their attention on the first page of the site and many
visitors will look further and buy more.
Update Your Content Often
Set up a schedule and update your content so
it is always current. Out of date content will drive visitors
away and they may not come back. |
September 1st Meteor Shower?
This isn't actually new, the debris from the Comet Kiess has
visited us before. Earth has had at least three encounters
with the debris stream in the past century—in 1935, 1986, and
1994. But apparently very few people were watching. People on
the west coast have the best possibility of seeing the meteor
shower. Find out more at the link below.
