Monarchs VS Harlan - Regionals 1st Round

After bringing the ball up the sideline, Alex (3) dropped the ball to an open team mate.

Brian (19) took the drop and sent it back up field.

Harlan kicked the ball out and Nick (4) put the ball back in to play for the Monarchs.

The Monarchs took control of the ball, Omar (21) beat a defender as he moved the ball up field. The ball bounced in to the box and the Keeper was able to cover it.

Nick (4) let the goal kick roll to the top of the box where he was met by Taylor (GK). Nick waited for the Harlan player to commit then kicked the ball around him to an open team mate.

Despite a lot of pushing, Omar (21) maintained control of the ball and was able to make a nice pass up field.

#15 took the pass and advanced the ball up field.

Alex (3) pressured a Harlan player and forced him to lose the ball out of bounds giving the Monarchs a corner kick.

 Daniel (6) handled the corner kick for the Monarchs.

After two headers by Harlan players failed to clear the ball, Jake (22) tried one of his own, the ball popped up and floated toward the goal but the Keeper scooped it up.

Rafael (18) challenged a Harlan player near the side line after the goal kick and forced him to give up the ball.

The ball was kicked around until a Harlan player attempted a long shot that sailed over the goal. Nick (4) put the ball back in play.

A little later, #15 took possession of the ball and made a short drop pass to Omar (21).

The ball was advanced up field and Omar (21) took control of the ball, eluded a Harlan player and took a shot at goal. The ball was on target, but the Keeper was able to knock it down.

Edwin (13) pushed the ball up field then passed to the middle.

The ball was cleared and bounced toward the Monarch goal, Nick (4) stayed calm and kicked the ball away.

Juan (9) took the ball to mid field and then kicked it straight up the middle.

Later, Tyler (26) cut off a Harlan player as he neared the goal and cleared the ball for the Monarchs.

The Monarchs regained control and Juan (9) made a pass up field.

#30 moved the ball into position and tried a shot, the ball bounced off of a Harlan players leg.

The Monarchs pressed players up toward the goal then Tyler (26) centered the ball.

 The ball was deflected and David (8) sent it back inside.

#30 Used a header to keep the ball in play for the Monarchs.

The ball came off the leg of a Harlan player and #30 sent it back toward the goal.

Alex (3) crashed the goal and made an attempt at the ball but the Keeper was able to cover it.
