Our plans call for a couple of individuals to be honored each year. Individuals who have exemplified Monarch Pride and are affiliated with Denison Community Schools, whether a graduate, employee, or a supporter, will be eligible for the honor. People can be nominated for the award by anyone, but the final decision will remain with the Alumni Board of Directors. 

Present plans are to have a gray granite module erected in the circle in front of the Denison High School building. The gray granite slab would be 6' 10" tall and 54" across. The top of the slab would have a black granite circle which would be engraved with the Denison High School crest. There will be room for 66 names to be engraved on each slab. More modules could be added in future years.

When the persons are chosen each year, their name will be engraved on the monument for everyone to see for years and years to come. We would also have a display inside the building showing their picture and a little history about the person being honored. 

We are hoping to have the project completed in time to unveil it at the All School Reunion on July 1! 

The Board of Directors is currently accepting nominations. If you know of someone you feel should be honored, please send a letter of nomination telling us why you feel the person should be honored. You may send the letters to The Denison Alumni Association, P O Box 373, Denison, IA 51442. In order to be considered nominations must be received by June 10, 2006. 

If you are interested, we are also accepting donations for the Wall of Pride and checks can be sent to the above address.
